I need to get a clear umbrella because there is SO much to look at that it blocks off half my view otherwise. This is the first place where I really feel like I need to look in every direction constantly. When I’m walking, I’ll even look behind me, to see things again from a different perspective.

Everyone uses clear umbrellas here so that while they shield themselves, they can still see where they’re going. And they don’t use foldable umbrellas because those would bend in the too easily. The classic type of umbrella will persevere through strong winds. Do the Japanese have it all figured out?
